Leading IB: A UK Showcase

The aim of the event is to ‘showcase’ all that is good about industrial biotechnology (IB) in the UK, including biobased products, products manufactured using biocatalysts and processes which make use of renewable raw materials. The UK has an enviable reputation for its science base in this key enabling technology and the exhibition and talks at the event will show that UK-based companies are also demonstrating significant competencies in this area as well.

The main focus will be an exhibition of products made using IB capability, some you will know of, but probably some that might surprise you. These will range from plastics to foods to inks and personal care products. Service providers and government representatives will also be on hand to offer support in securing funding, skills development and help with overseas business.

We have secured some excellent speakers for this event from both industry and academia, including keynote presentations from companies for which IB is core to their business and they will explain why and members of the academic community who are genuinely paving the way for industry to quickly utilise IB in their own operations.

In addition to the exhibition and talks there will be ample opportunity for networking, one-to-one meetings and discussion with peers and potential collaborators.
